Tampa, Florida is a cheap & fun vacation guaranteed! – the sounds really commercial but seriously it is inexpensive and a really good time, the drinking, partying. eating at restaurants, activities, etc… Here are a list of places to visit if you are there:
Nightlife: There is always people out in the bars, even on a Monday or Tuesday night.
Jackson’s – Is my old time favorite nightclub in Tampa, is beautiful, by the water, the DJs are always playing the right tunes, and just the 4 different room selection makes it impossible not to find the right space for you to dance all night long. If dancing is not your thing I think calling the right people or getting on a list can probably get you a decent price table!
HPC – or Hyde Park Cafe – This is probably my 2nd favorite nightclub as it feels like a relaxed nightclub and I really like that environment away from the posh clubbing style sometimes. Feels like it has 5 different areas and one of the areas is alfresco! Best room at HPC is the techno room! We went 3 nights in this trip- so yeah we like.
Hogan’s Beach – owned by professional wrestler Hulk Hogan. I have mix feelings on this place, I like the service, the fact that is right by the water, and appreciate some of the eye candy. But I just find it a bit weird parading around in a tiny bikini sipping alcohol and never actually getting in the beach, I see it more as a Tampa life style therefore maybe is something I would have to get used to if I ever live there, still worth checking it out for the experience. (I went to a fake beach bar in Germany & that I LOVED-Will make a Germany Tips Post soon!)
Hard Rock Casino – definitely good music and fun for the lovers of the game!
Eating: Cooking may be cheaper but not in Tampa seriously you can eat out almost everyday, they have really good deals & now we all sorts of Groupons you get even better deals.
Cracker Barrel – I LOVE BREAKFAST! Seriously I hate skipping breakfast is really rarely that I skip it and CB offers breakfast all day long-Yessss!!!! It taste good too but they had me at breakfast! After eating spend some time in their store and feed the eye with some pretty cool and interesting stuff.
Fly – My dish was pretty tasty, my cousins didn’t love their dish but it still wasn’t horrible or anything. I think is worth going here at least for the art on the walls, I am a sucker for art and interior decor and Fly definitely offers really beautiful decor. Also try the Spicy Tuna Tartare!
Hogan’s – we also ate at Hogan’s and the food was really good!
Applebee’s – I had been to an Applebee’s in NYC that had left me feeling like I never wanted to go back but tried again in Tampa and it was pretty great! Their White Sangria is delish, try it try it!
Ocean Blue Sushi Bar – pretty good, cheap sushi, and our waiter was very nice and easy on the eyes too.. hehe
Grill Smith – the Caribbean Pumpkin Crab Bisque soup was really good, overall a nice place to eat.
Grand Plaza Hotel – the hotel is right on the beach, walk to the back of the hotel and voilà! Comfortable & clean rooms!
The rest of the trip just stay in someone house! Save money haha… Also if your budget is low you can try Couchsurfing – another post coming soon about my couching surfing experience!
If all you want is a place to sleep then maybe Gram’s Place may be perfect for you, I have not stayed there but it seems and sounds pretty decent.
